Awesome Aloe - Aloe Bio-Cellulose Face Mask Review

Updated: Jul 23, 2020

This week, I had the pleasure of re-connecting with an old work acquaintance who recently started her own business called Awesome Aloe. She had reached out to me because she was finally pursuing her passion for Aloe Vera based products.

Her business is affiliated with a company called Forever Living Product Company, and she is selling their Aloe Based Products through her new company as she personally has been using their products for 18 years and counting. They sell items related to aloe based drinks, bee products, nutritional supplements, weight management, skincare, personal care, essential oils, and many other products.

She asked if she could send me an aloe-based face mask and I said “Sure, why not?!” I have been long overdue to take some time for myself and I have also always loved Aloe Vera based products.

I personally have only used Aloe Vera in the past in the form of drinks to get a cool dose of refreshment on those hot summer days and in the form of gel to relieve and sun strain/burning I have received. I was not previously aware of the fact that there are more uses for Aloe so learning about her company has been eye-opening in that area.

After I received the Aloe-Bio Cellulose Mask that she sells by Forever Living, I decided that I would do a 24-hr review of the product.

Here is a description of the product from the Forever Living Product Company’s website.

Deeply replenishes skin with powerful hydration • Rejuvenates dull skin to help fight the signs of aging • Soothes skin and reduces the appearance of redness • Unveils soft, supple skin for a complexion that glows • Vegetarian friendly • Vegan friendly

Forever’s aloe bio-cellulose mask provides potent, energizing hydration using forward-thinking technology and natural ingredients. At the heart of this next-level mask is a bio-cellulose fiber. This material easily fits every contour of your face, allowing the mask to penetrate deep into fine lines and wrinkles traditional sheet masks fail to reach.

The aloe bio-cellulose mask provides dual-phase benefits. Through a process unique to Forever, a special bacteria naturally ferments aloe vera gel from our own plantations and seagrass then fuses them into bio-cellulose fabric to soothe, soften and condition skin. In addition, a serum enriched with green tea, and horse chestnut rejuvenates dull skin, helps fight free radicals to help combat the signs of aging and soothes to reduce the appearance of redness. That’s two incredible tasks from just one mask.

Our bio-cellulose mask is easy to use and requires no rinsing. Simply massage the remaining serum into your face and neck. Because bio-cellulose allows the serum to penetrate many times deeper than traditional masks, you'll feel the powerful hydration much longer after use.

After opening the package, I was greeted with one Aloe-Bio Cellulose Mask (when purchased they come as a pack of five.) I do have to say that I have never really seen a face mask packaged like this. There was a protective layer to take off on both sides. After peeling off the woven fabric on one side. I applied to my face and then carefully removed the woven fabric on the opposite side, after which, the mask fit onto every nook and cranny of my face, including my under eyes, which I consider one of the problem areas of my face.

Upon application of the mask, I felt my skin cool instantly and tingle ever so slightly. I closed my eyes and took a moment to enjoy the feeling and enjoy the mask’s light, yet pleasant smell. I could slowly feel my skin tightening pleasantly, it was not a drying feeling at all, I felt like moisture was being retained in my face while being refreshed.

I waited 25 minutes (5 minutes over the regular time limit) then lightly pulled it off, folded it and gently spread the extra serum on the mask all over my face once again, including my neck, collarbones and shoulders. This provided my skin with an instant dose of cooling as I patted it gently into my face and let it dry. As this mask does not require any kind of rinsing after use.

After my face dried, my skin felt moisturized and comfortably tight. I decided to stay makeup free throughout the day as to not allow the chemicals in makeup to change the results of my review.

Throughout the day my skin’s appearance and feeling did not change, it remained supple and taunt. I washed my face once before bed and once again in the morning when I woke up and did my Gua Sha face shaping with left over serum in the package. My face continued to feel moisturized and cool throughout the day even with a full makeup application this time.

All in all, I really appreciated testing this product thanks to the owner of Awesome Aloe, I will most likely purchase this product again in the future for myself as I feel with multiple uses, I would see more positive results for longer periods of time and would love to test that theory out.

One thing that I would really like to include in this post for all my environmentally friendly readers, is that the masks and packaging are completely bio-degradable and recyclable! The woven fabric on either side of the mask and the mask itself can be composted and the packaging that the masks come in can be placed into your recycle bin. There is no harmful waste and apparently this is something that the Forever Living Product Company has been striving to do with all their products to ensure a better future for our planet.

I will leave a link here to contact Awesome Aloe yourself if you would like to purchase and try out a wonderful vegan product from Awesome Aloe that I would highly recommend.
